COMMERCIAL SOLAR SITE SURVEY: WHAT HAPPENS AND HOW TO PREPARE
Every good commercial solar project starts with understanding the site. A proper assessment tells you whether solar is suitable, what size system makes sense, and what needs to happen before installation. Here is what to expect and how to prepare.
What we look at during the assessment
- Your premises and roof: type, orientation, shading, condition and usable space.
- Electrical infrastructure: supply, distribution boards and capacity for connection.
- Existing equipment: any current solar, battery or EV charging systems.
- Site conditions: access, safety and working requirements.
- Your goals: cutting bills, energy independence, sustainability targets or EV charging.
Your preparation checklist
- Site address and property type
- Recent electricity bills or half-hourly usage data, if available
- Roof access details and any building plans or recent roof work
- Details of any existing solar or battery system
- Your main objectives and timescales
Don't worry if you don't have everything. We can work through it with you.
Already have commercial solar?
We also inspect existing systems where there are concerns about performance, condition, equipment or maintenance, and advise on remedial work or upgrades. A visual inspection may not identify every fault, and we will tell you if further testing is advisable.
What happens after the survey
You receive technical recommendations first. Only then is a proposal progressed, so you can make a decision based on clear information about your site.
